Our roughly 2-hour Walk With a Viking City Tour will begin this combination tour and act as your ideal introduction to Reykjavik and Icelandic culture. Then, after your leisurely city walk, you will have a short lunch break before heading out to do some Whale Watching on board a spacious, modern boat.
The Reykjavik walking tour begins at 10 AM and is designed to help you orientate yourself in our capital city and make the most of your stay in Iceland.
We recommend that newcomers make this their first stop in Reykjavik! It is, though, packed with enough hidden gems to excite even those who have visited before.
(However, if you are looking for even more specialist options, head to our Reykjavik Walking Tours to explore further.)
We will visit all the highlights of the Reykjavik city center and share some often-overlooked spots with you, such as a visit to a genuine Elf home and other local curiosities.
After your fun and educational city walk, it’s time to go to the sea to meet the whales!
After our City Walk, we’ll get ready to go whale watching from Reykjavik Old Harbour. You will have time first to grab a quick lunch between 12 and 1 PM (maybe you’ll opt for the one and only Icelandic Hot dog?) before heading down to the seafront and starting the next stage of our adventure.
Your whale-watching tour on Andrea’s ship leaves at 1 PM (13:00) from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík. Warm floatable overalls are provided for your comfort and safety (overalls also come available in children’s sizes).
The Andrea is a large and comfortable boat. On board, your guides will provide an educational and interactive focus, so you will learn all about this region and its wildlife while enjoying the fantastic views of the mountains surrounding Reykjavik.
The most common species in Faxaflói Bay are Minke Whales, Humpback Whales, White Beaked Dolphins, and Harbour Porpoises.
The Whale Watching tour is about 3 to 3.5 hours long, so you should be back at the Harbor by around 4.30 PM.
The total length of this experience is roughly from 10 AM to 4:30 PM, including a 1-hour lunch break. If you have any questions about the tour details, please get in touch.
We’ll show you our favorite places to eat, drink, and visit in Reykjavik (including the best happy hour deals across town).
This tour welcomes a maximum of 12 guests, meaning we can answer all your questions and take time to get to know each other.
