Experience the Icelandic horse surrounded by unique nature outside Reykjavík’s city center!
Experience the versatility of the Icelandic horse and go straight into exploring the Reykjanes preservation area from our stables in Hafnarfjörður. Cross the Kaldá river and ride around the dormant volcano of Mt. Helgafell or into the gorgeous Heiðmörk nature park with our trained guides.
This is meet at the location tour, but you can add the pick-up option from Reykjavik while booking. The pick-up from the designated bus stop or your hotel directly starts 1 hour before the departure time. If you are arriving by own car, please be at Ishestar Stables 30 minutes before the tour begins.
The riding time is around 2.5 – 3 hours.
This tour is for strong intermediate riders that are comfortable and in control of the horse at all paces.
The route choice depends on season and weather and is subject to change to ensure a fun experience for everyone.
When we arrive back at the stables, it’s time to enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Feel free to ask our staff any questions about the Icelandic horse!
