Tour description

Zip-line Vik, South Iceland

Our Zipline is right next to the village in Vík, on Iceland’s South Coast, surrounded by beautiful hills and river canyons. It is not directly accessible by vehicle, so after we meet at our base and get you dressed up in safety gear and brief your shortly, we drive for 5 minutes, where the hike begins.

We have around a 5-minute easy hike to reach the take-off platform for the first zip, named Big Russ. We will give you detailed safety instructions and ensure you are comfortable with what to do during the ride so you will enjoy it to the fullest and stay safe. Once you’re ready, you wait your turn, and the next thing you know, you are zipping above this breathtaking river canyon, heart pumping with excitement and having the best birds-eye view of the area you can imagine. Right after the first zip comes the second, The Gentle Giant. This one is pure joy.

Following the first two zip lines, we have another hike through the amazing rock formation of Grafargil (Grave Canyon), packed with caves and other natural gems, to our third zip-line, Little Russ. On our way there, we’ll have to cross the river in a little bit creative way, so we named it Leap of Faith. Little Rush will take you over a stunning waterfall and cross two canyons. Last but not least, we have a short hike back to base if the weather permits. The short drive-back is always an option, though.

 

Please dress according to the weather; wind and rainproof are always good options when traveling in Iceland. 

Closed shoes, preferably hiking boots, as there will be hiking involved to get to the start point.

Please bring gloves and a thin hat to fit under your helmet. 

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your booking time.

We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if the booking is canceled 12 hours or less before the event. 

We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if the booking is canceled 2 days and 23 hours or less before the event.

A no-show at our meeting point, or if you arrive late and the tour has already left, no refund will be issued.

Good To Know

  • The minimum age for this tour is 8 (or 30 kg)
  • Sometimes we need to change departure times slightly due to the weather. Please check your email before your booked time and leave us a phone number so we can call or text you in case we have to contact you with changes in schedule
  • If you have long hair, it’s recommended to braid it or tie it in a low bun
  • Allow 2 hours for the whole tour incl. driving to where the hiking starts, hiking, safety instructions, and checks, etc.
