You’ll begin with a Classic Whale Watching tour and, later in the evening, embark on a Northern Lights Adventure. The first part of the tour is a 2.5 to 3.5-hour Classic Whale Watching tour. As you navigate through Eyjafjörður, Iceland’s longest fjord, you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of whale species. Our expert guides provide insightful commentary about the marine life in these waters, ensuring a memorable experience.
Our boats offer both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can stay comfortable, even on colder days. We also provide hot drinks such as coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to keep you cozy while you enjoy the views.
In the evening, we shift gears for a 2.5 to 3-hour Northern Lights tour. This adventure takes you outside Akureyri, away from city lights, to maximize your chances of witnessing the awe-inspiring aurora borealis. With a small group of up to 19 people, you’ll enjoy a more personal and intimate experience.
We closely monitor aurora activity and weather conditions to ensure we choose the best location for your viewing experience. Our team coordinates with local observers to find the best spots for clear skies and optimal aurora visibility.
For the Whale Watching tour, good weather conditions and visibility are essential for an enjoyable experience. We require a minimum of 10 passengers to proceed with the tour. If this number is not met, or if weather conditions are unfavorable, the tour may be canceled on short notice. In such cases, we will contact you as soon as possible to offer a rebooking or a full refund. If no whales or dolphins are spotted during the tour, we will offer you a free rebooking for another whale-watching trip.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Every day, we assess the weather between 17:30 and 18:00 to determine if conditions are favorable to run the tour. Even if the tour operates, sightings of the aurora are not always guaranteed.
If we do not see the Northern Lights on the tour, we will offer you the chance to rebook for free. If the conditions prevent the tour from going ahead, we will contact you as soon as possible to offer a rebooking or a full refund.
Please note that we charge a 100% cancellation fee if a booking is canceled less than 24 hours before the event.
