Tour description

The Golden Circle Platinum Tour

is one of the best Golden Circle tours you can book in Iceland. It’s a perfect combination of a must-see sightseeing tour, luxury in the form of relaxing in hot springs, and an unusual tomato farm experience with an excellent lunch included in the price.

Please take a moment to review the itinerary:

The tour departs from Reykjavik, and your pick-up starts at 8:30 AM anywhere in the city center.

Hot Springs

The first stop will be to warm up and soak in the natural hot springs of the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest natural swimming pool. The walls of the lagoon were placed around a small bubbling geyser over 100 years ago and have remained in place ever since. In contrast, the modern changing rooms and rest area make this authentic bathing experience comfortable for everyone. What is more, you will arrive at the Secret Lagoon early, when there are fewest visitors, to feel the natural charm of this place.

Tomato Farm (lunch included)

Then it’s lunchtime at Friðheimar Greenhouse restaurant on a unique tomato farm! The price includes one main course, water, and a hot beverage. We recommend that you choose their delicious tomato soup with fresh homemade bread, Icelandic butter, and cucumber salad. Or maybe would you be interested in trying tomato beer and ice cream? Furthermore, don’t forget to say hello to the famous Icelandic horses. We can guarantee it will be an unforgettable experience!

Gullfoss

The next stop is the impressive, two-tiered Gullfoss Waterfall (Golden Waterfall), one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls. Almost all the water originates from the distant Langjökull ice cap, which you can see on a clear day. A common phenomenon is a rainbow appearing in the mist floating above the waterfall. Gullfoss is one of the most beautiful places to see in all of Iceland.

Geysir

From there, it’s only a 10-minute drive to the Geysir Geothermal Area. You can see the extinct Geysir from which all geysers in the world are named and its surrounding steam vents. The biggest attraction is Strokkur which erupts every 6-10 minutes. Don’t worry. You will have enough time to capture it in your photos and visit great souvenir shops in the area. There is no rush.

Þingvellir National Park

Finally, we will visit Þingvellir National Park, historically the most important place on the island, where the oldest existing parliament (Alþingi) in the world was established in 930. It is also a place where you can see the consequences of Iceland’s location between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, like a gorgeous Almannagjá gorge, delightful Öxarárfoss Waterfall, and many rock cracks. Also, from the viewing platform, there is a sight of the largest lake on the island, Þingvallavatn. You can’t miss it when traveling to Iceland.

Then it’s just a short drive back into town, reaching Reykjavik in time for dinner.

You will not regret booking this bestseller. Enjoy your tour! 🙂
