Join us on a unique tour exploring hidden gems that you won’t find in any guidebook. We’ll take you to our favorite secret spots, where you’re likely to encounter only locals or farmers, providing a truly authentic experience offered exclusively by Midgard Adventure.

Our adventure takes us to Fljótshlíð, “the hill by the river,” shaped by the river Markarfljót. This peaceful area is rich in history and the setting for many Icelandic Sagas.

Some of the places we might explore include:

• The small canyons and one of our favorite playgrounds beneath Mt. Þórólfsfell.
• The small mountain Stóri Dímon, where a 120-meter hike to the top offers stunning views, or we might wander around to discover unexpected beauty and adventures.
• Our special spots around Mt Þríhyrningur, featuring rivers to cross, hidden waterfalls, and caves to explore.
• We love ending the day at a secret spot in one of Iceland’s few forests, sipping from an ancient well by a farm where the farmers lived to be 100. Drinking from this well is our secret to staying young and might become yours too.

This tour is perfect for those who have enjoyed our Þórsmörk Super Jeep Day Tour and want to venture further off the beaten path. It’s ideal for families, friends, the young and old, newlyweds, or anyone seeking a leisurely day in an unexplored area.

Since Midgard Adventure is based in Hvolsvöllur, the hot dog town where all Icelandic hot dogs are made, we’ll treat you to a hot dog barbecue. We offer a vegan version too. You’ll learn how the order of ingredients—onions, ketchup, mustard, and remoulade—changes the taste, and each guide will share their “only right way” to make a hot dog.

Depending on the conditions at the time of your visit, we may use our super jeeps, jeeps, or a regular car for this tour.
