Depart From Reykjavik and Explore the Golden Circle…

Enjoy Iceland’s nature and culture on this full-day Golden Circle tour from Reykjavik. After experiencing the breathtaking natural landscapes of Iceland’s most famous scenic route, we then make a rejuvenating stop at the geothermal pools of the Secret Lagoon.

Your first stop is at Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland’s parliament was founded in 930 A.D. Here you will also get to see a natural wonder found nowhere else on planet Earth – the epic meeting pointing of two tectonic plates. We will also enjoy a comfortable walk to the picturesque Öxarárfoss waterfall. (Learn more about Thingvellir and the Golden Circle by reading our What is Iceland’s Golden Circle? blog.)

The next stop is at the Geysir Geothermal Area, a stunning area of natural beauty where we can witness the Strokkur geyser erupt every five minutes. Then we are off to the thundering Gullfoss (Golden Falls) waterfall, one of the most beloved waterfalls in a country specializing in them.

For a delicious lunch stop, we go to the Fridheimar greenhouse, a family-run tomato farm serving meals using the freshest ingredients. (please note that lunch is not included in the tour price.)

A revitalizing visit to the Secret Lagoon

To top it off, we visit the thermal pool called “Gamla Laugin” (recently renamed the Secret Lagoon), a spot much beloved by locals. Established in 1891, the Secret Lagoon boasts the oldest swimming pool in the country. The pools are maintained at a constant temperature of 38/40°C, thanks to the hot waters from the surrounding geothermal activity.

This tour is an immersion in Icelandic nature and culture. As you travel in a small, intimate tour group, you will hear lots of stories from your expert guides, and they’ll answer any questions you might have.

The journey is made in a minibus designed for your safety and comfort and does not exceed more than 19 people. This way, your local guide can connect with all travelers.

The Golden Circle is one of Iceland’s most popular attractions. The route begins not far from Reykjavik and showcases the dazzling variety of natural wonders Iceland offers.

Why Your Friend in Reykjavik Recommends This Tour

The Golden Circle is simply beautiful, and there is a reason why it’s the most popular day tour in Iceland.

The “holy trinity” of Thingvellir, Gullfoss waterfall, and the Geyser hot springs area.

Þingvellir (Thingvellir) national park is Your Friend in Reykjavik’s favorite place in Iceland because of its history and beautiful landscapes.  It’s almost a religious experience to go there.  Then you have the beautiful Gullfoss or the Golden Waterfall and the Geyser hot springs, which are a sight to behold.

When choosing the right partner for this small bus tour, we needed to ensure it was a personal experience. We have to put our trust in knowledgeable local guides to take good care of our friends worldwide.

Then they have the bonus of going to Friðheimar tomato farm for lunch and finally visiting the Secret Lagoon in the end for a relaxing soak before heading back to Reykjavik, all in the same day tour. What’s not to love? 😁
