This is a meet-at-the-location tour. Please be at Skaftafell Camp Base 20 minutes before the tour’s departure.
It’s more than 4 hours driving from Reykjavik.
The adventure begins in Skaftafell, where you will meet your experienced glacier guide. He will prepare you for the excursion with all the necessary glacier equipment. After a short ride on the Glacier Bus, you reach the glacier.
You will explore Falljökull, one of the most stunning outlet glaciers extending from the mighty Vatnajökull ice cap, Europe’s largest glacier. You will walk through a wonderland of glacial ice sculptures, meandering through ice ridges and the glacier’s deep crevasses. On the way, your guide will teach you about the Icelandic glaciers’ history and geology.
After spending roughly 2-hours on the glacier, it’s time to head back to Skaftafell. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit this glacial wonderland!
