Fast Glacier Helicopter Tour – Skaftafell

Join us for a stunning 30-minute air tour exploring the many outlet glaciers of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. You’ll see Skaftafellsjökull, Skeiðarárjökull, Svínafellsjökull, and more.

Upon arrival at Skaftafell Terminal, please check in at our reception. Your pilot will review the flight route and perform a safety briefing before we head to the helicopter.

Our first destination is Skaftafellsjökull glacier. We’ll fly through a narrow valley with vivid colors before climbing up the steep glacier edge to Mount Hrútsfjall (1800m). Next, we visit Svínafellsjökull glacier, famously used as an alien ice planet in the movie Interstellar. From there, we glide over Virkisjökull, Falljökull, Korárjökull, and Öræfajökull, enjoying a bird’s eye view.

On our way back, we’ll fly at a lower altitude over cliffs, canyons, and waterfalls, rounding out a truly breathtaking tour. Upon landing back at Skaftafell Terminal, we hope you’ve captured some fantastic photos and experienced the magical landscapes this area has to offer.
