2-Day Þórsmörk Exploration

On the first day of this adventure, we depart from Hvolsvöllur and head into Þórsmörk, driving towards Eyjafjallajökull, the famous volcano that erupted in 2010. Our super jeep navigates extreme conditions, reaching the dramatic landscape around Gígjökull glacier, which was transformed by the eruption.

Crossing unbridged, glacial rivers, we arrive in Þórsmörk after an exhilarating journey. Our overnight accommodation in Húsadalur offers options of staying in a tent or upgrading to a mountain hut. For dinner, we’ll enjoy delicious traditional lamb, sharing stories and soaking in the beauty and tranquility of this remote area.

After a hearty breakfast, we continue exploring the Þórsmörk valley, driving around to discover the magical, water-carved canyons on the lower slopes of Eyjafjallajökull.

As we exit Þórsmörk, we’ll visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can even walk behind it if you’re feeling adventurous! Then, we head to the Atlantic coast to roam the extensive black sand beaches.

The itinerary is flexible, adapting to conditions and group preferences. Finally, you’ll be returned to your hotel or onward to Reykjavík.
