South Coast Odyssey Tour

Explore Iceland’s stunning South Coast on this exclusive tour from Reykjavik, where breathtaking scenery and unforgettable experiences await. Marvel at iconic waterfalls like Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, each with its own distinct beauty.

Visit a magnificent glacier, and walk along the surreal Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, known for its dramatic basalt columns and roaring Atlantic waves.

Enjoy a delicious lunch in the picturesque village of Vík before an unforgettable horseback ride along the black sand beach, where you’ll experience the smooth tölt gait of Icelandic horses. This adventure-packed journey combines nature, history, and unique activities for a day you won’t forget.

Depart from Reykjavik

We’ll set off early from Reykjavik, heading east toward Iceland’s magnificent South Coast. Along the way, soak in scenic views of volcanoes, mountains, and farmlands

Seljalandsfoss

One of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls and a must-see. The waterfall isn’t large, but it is beautiful nonetheless. What makes this waterfall special is that you can walk behind it, giving great photo opportunities, especially in the twilight.

Skógafoss

Nearby is the much larger Skógafoss Waterfall. This beautiful waterfall has been used in a few films, such as Thor: Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. This is a much larger and more powerful waterfall, so don’t try to walk behind it. However, you can walk up to it; just don’t go too close.
You can also walk up a few steps and see it from above and the flattest area of Iceland to the south. The steps are the start of the hike over Fimmvörðuháls to Þórsmörk.

There is also an exciting folk museum in the area, Skógar Folk Museum. It’s a cultural heritage collection of 8000 regional artifacts exhibited in 6 historical buildings and 3 museums!

Sólheimajökull Glacier

Next, we’ll stop at Sólheimajökull, a magnificent glacier tongue extending from the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. If you’re interested, add a glacier hike or snowmobiling adventure to get up close and personal with the icy terrain. Expert guides will equip you and lead the way

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

The beautiful, expansive, and famous Reynisfjara is a place everyone should visit. It is important to keep out of the waves, though, as they can be very dangerous.

The beach is often considered one of Iceland’s best black sand beaches, and National Geographic even put the beach on its top 10 list of non-tropical beaches people should visit.

To one end, you can see Dyrahólaey, and on the other are the Reynisdrangar rock formations, basalt columns, and a small cave. The story goes that Reynisdrangar was made when two trolls tried to drag a three-masted ship to land. The trolls and the ship turned to stone when the sun hit them.

Lunch in Vik

We’ll make a stop in the quaint seaside village of Vik for lunch. With its charming ambiance and picturesque views, Vik is the perfect place to relax and refuel before continuing our adventure

Horseback Riding on the Black Sand Beach

After lunch, enjoy a unique Icelandic experience: horseback riding along the black sand beaches. Riding Icelandic horses, known for their friendly nature and smooth gait, you’ll feel connected to both the landscape and Icelandic culture as you travel along the windswept shore.

Return to Reykjavik

After a full day of exploring the incredible South Coast, we’ll make our way back to Reykjavik, filled with unforgettable memories and photos of Iceland’s most breathtaking landscapes
