Tour description

You will find Vök Baths in the East Fjords, the only place with floating thermal pools in Iceland. The East Fjords are also considered cold in Iceland, as geothermal heat is scarce.

At Vök Baths, you can experience the age-old Icelandic tradition of bathing in a natural geothermal pool. You will find Vök Baths on the bank of Urriðavatn lake, only a few minutes from the town of Egilsstaðir.

The Vök Baths Premium admission includes tisane brewed from hot spring water and locally sourced herbs, a drink at the in-water pool bar, and a premium platter at the Vök Bistro restaurant.

The baths have floating geothermal pools with an infinity view, two onshore hot pools, a sauna, a cold water spray tunnel, a tea bar, an in-water pool bar, and the on-site restaurant, Vök Bistro.

The whole family can enjoy their stay together at Vök Baths, and while you relax and enjoy what the baths offer, you can also get in touch with the beautiful nature surrounding it. You can swim in Urriðavatn, which covers the floating infinity pools, and it is both refreshing and fun.

At Vök Bistro, you will find a selection of hand-picked courses made with fresh, locally sourced, quality ingredients.

Why Your Friend in Reykjavik Recommends This Tour

The hot spots in Urriðavatn were used for washing clothes for centuries, but people also believed a mythical being called Tuska (e. Rag) used the hot spots to get up to the surface during winter. Thankfully, Tuska hasn’t been seen for a very long time so we felt very safe soaking in the beautiful Vök Baths. The premium admission brings the whole experience to another level.
