To rent a car in Iceland, you’ll need a valid physical driver’s license with Latin characters. If your license uses a different alphabet, an International Driving Permit is required. Drivers must be at least 20 years old for standard 2WD vehicles and 23 for 4WD or luxury models. A valid credit card is required to book, though debit cards with a 16-digit number are also accepted.
