An Unforgettable Puffin Watching Tour in Reykjavik…

We meet at Ingólfur Square in central Reykjavik at 10 AM (by the pair of three-meter stone pillars). Our Reykjavik walking tour is an ideal introduction to Iceland. It will help you get your bearings and make the most of your stay in Iceland.

We’ll visit all of the famous landmarks in the city center, such as Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavik Harbour, Hallgrímskirkja Church, Reykjavik Pond, and the Parliament building. As you walk, our expert guides will bring Iceland’s culture, history, and mythology to life!

We’ll show you our favorite places to eat and drink, alongside pointing out some hidden gems that other visitors to the city may miss (such as a visit to an Elf home). This introduction to Reykjavik takes around two hours.

Then you have time to grab lunch between 12 and 1:30 PM (maybe try the one and only Icelandic Hot dog?) before heading down to the harbor and starting the next part of our adventure.

Your puffin-watching boat leaves at 2 PM from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík, and it takes us only about 15 minutes to reach the puffin island, Akurey.

On the journey out, you will catch beautiful views of Reykjavik from the sea. The expert guide leading your tour will also share information about the buildings and islands that can be spotted along the way.

The island’s shores are rocky, but Old Skuli, our boat, is specially designed to take us as close to the islands as possible due to its shallow draft.

When we arrive at the islands, we turn off the engine so our guests can observe the birds and their idyllic surroundings.

Your guide will give you all the facts and fun stories about these adorable, iconic birds and the other wildlife that might be seen on tour.

Local Food and Insider Reykjavik Tips
