The Aurora Borealis is one of the coolest natural phenomena you’ll ever see. A Northern Lights cruise on the water is a fantastic way to catch this amazing celestial light show! Picture this: an eerie glow lights up the night sky as solar flares dance in the Earth’s atmosphere, creating stunning displays of green, white, violet, and red.

To catch the aurora, you need a clear, dark sky. So we take you far from the city lights for a better chance to see this magical phenomenon. Remember, the Northern Lights don’t appear every night, so it’s a bit of a lucky dip!

Please note:

  • Check-in at the sales office at Aegisgardur 5b, 101 Reykjavík at the harbor 30 minutes before departure.
  • The tour takes about 1.5-2.5 hours depending on how early/late the lights might appear.
  • If you added pick-up service to your tour the car will be there 45 minutes before departure.
  • Weather is a big factor for the tour, we may have to cancel the tour due to unfavorable weather conditions.
  • The tour takes place in wild nature, sightings cannot be predicted or guaranteed. If there are no sightings on the tour, we do not offer refunds but instead, we offer our passengers a free return to join our tour depending on availability or receive a voucher valid for up to three years.

  • We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 1 day or less before the event
  • The Northern Light Boat tour can start at 10 pm or 9 pm, depending on the season and when it's dark enough to start earlier
